Live arrival, in writing.
Every order ships under our live-arrival guarantee. The terms are short, the process is fast, and we honor it without arguing.
— What we cover
The promise.
If a chick does not arrive alive, we will refund the price of that chick or replace it on the next available hatch day. You choose. There is no per-order minimum, no shipping fee on replacements, and no fine print that turns "live arrival" into "alive but visibly stressed counts."
The guarantee covers in-transit losses only. It begins when USPS scans the parcel as accepted at our facility and ends when you collect the parcel from the carrier. After delivery, the guarantee transfers to your brooder — which is to say, what happens next is on the keeper.

Filing a claim.

Step 01 / 03
Photograph promptly.
Open the box, count, and photograph any DOA chicks alongside the open transit box and shipping label. Keep the box and packaging until your claim is closed.

Email within 48 hours.
Send the photos to flock@avorahatch.com with your order number. We need the email within forty-eight hours of the USPS delivery scan.

We make it right.
You'll get a reply within one business day with two options: refund the affected chicks or schedule a replacement on the next ship day. Whichever you pick, that is the answer.

What the guarantee doesn\'t cover.
Late pickup. If a parcel sits at the post office or on your porch for more than four hours after the first delivery scan, the guarantee no longer applies. Set up SMS tracking and pick up promptly.
Brooder mortality. Once a bird is in your care, the outcome depends on temperature, feed, water, and biosecurity. We can advise — see the brooder guide — but we cannot replace a chick lost to keeper conditions.
Sex-mis ID below quoted accuracy. Sexed pullets are rated to ninety-five percent female accuracy. The five percent error is built into the guarantee terms; we do not refund a single mis-sexed cockerel out of a sexed batch.
Acts of God on weather holds. If we hold your shipment for weather and you cancel, we refund in full. If you decline a weather hold and ask us to ship anyway, you waive the live-arrival guarantee for that shipment.
We’ve been honoring this guarantee for seventeen years. The only thing that’s changed is the email address.
